FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) is a high school student organization for business, entrepreneurship, and technology leadership. Members compete in objective tests, presentations, roleplays, and projects — from chapter events through FBLA state to national FBLA conferences (nationals).
What is FBLA?
FBLA is a career and technical student organization that develops business and leadership skills. Chapters host meetings, community projects, and competitive events that lead to FBLA state and national conferences.

FBLA competitive events include objective tests, production/skill events, presentations, interviews, and roleplay scenarios. Choosing the right event early — and practicing the exact format — matters more than generic study.
FBLA state, national FBLA, and nationals
After local or regional rounds, competitors advance to FBLA state. Top performers qualify for national FBLA competition (often called FBLA nationals). Conference week rewards preparation, not last-minute slides.

What is the difference between FBLA state and nationals?
FBLA state is your association-level conference and competition. National FBLA (nationals) is the country-level conference where state-qualified members compete against chapters nationwide.
What is FBLA Connect?
FBLA Connect is FBLA’s official system for membership and many conference processes. COMP 101 does not replace Connect — we help you prepare for the competitive events you’ll register for there.
